About Community Watch Forum of Liberia (CWFL)
The Community Watch Forum of Liberia (CWFL) is a community-based peace and security organization established in 2004 with support from the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL). Its primary goal is to support national security institutions, especially the Liberia National Police, through community policing, crime prevention, early warning, and information sharing.
CWFL works across Liberia’s counties and districts by training community volunteers to help identify and report criminal activities, promote peaceful coexistence, and strengthen public safety at the grassroots level. The organization also engages in peacebuilding, election violence prevention, anti-drug awareness, and alternative dispute resolution initiatives within communities.
The organization has collaborated with the Liberia Peacebuilding Office and other national stakeholders on programs aimed at enhancing community security and conflict prevention.
